Cheap Bathroom Design Tips!

Redesigning a room on a strict budget is not an easy task, but for the majority of us, not doing this isn’t an option. But fortunately, there are cheap and creative ways of completely designing a bathroom that both looks professional, and is light on your wallet.

Artwork is important, and it’s possible to get it on the cheap. If you’re internet savvy, it’s possible to browse Deviant Art (most of the site is safe for work, despite the name) and find a great piece to be printed on canvas for only pennies on the dollar of the original artwork’s price. Etsy is also a very cool place where your transactions take place one-on-one with even more creative minds – it’s an incredible resource to find quality artwork.

Replace just your vanity cabinet! More than likely, there are retailers that have spare parts, and are willing to strike a great deal with you to just sell the bottom portion of a bathroom vanity (the cabinet a la carte). Including your city name into Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc will tell the search engine to try to return results that are only around that location – for example, entering “San Diego bath vanities” will return bathroom vanities in San Diego County. Find a local retailer that you trust, and give them a call to see if they have any spare bathroom cabinets. The answer is most likely yes (returns happen all of the time and these returns are not often sent out until their missing parts have been ordered).

A coat of paint is cheap, and has one of the largest impacts on a room’s mood. Cooler colors will yield a more serene atmosphere, while warmer colors will give the room youthful energy. For powder rooms or half bathrooms, a warmer color is recommended since that bathroom is meant for guests and a warm, inviting color will make them feel at home. Cooler colors are recommended for master bedroom bathrooms because your bathroom should be a serene place where you go to relax, or get ready for the day.
